Foundations of Innovation
CFS Group was founded by Tim McNulty Snr in 1969, marking the beginning of a new era in Irish construction. The company introduced groundbreaking formwork techniques and worked on several landmark projects including the Dublin Airport Terminal, the Irish Life Centre, and the Central Bank of Ireland — known for its innovative suspended floor design.
Scaling Up Through Specialisation
As Ireland’s construction needs expanded, so did CFS. The 1980s saw the company take on major public and commercial projects, building a strong reputation for quality and reliability. Notable work includes Lansdowne Stadium’s East Stand, the Square Shopping Centre in Tallaght, and several hospital and hospitality developments across Dublin.
Integration & Innovation
The early 2000s were a period of diversification and growth. CFS Developments launched in 2002, and by 2007, the Group opened a state of the art precast plant in Meath. Major projects from this era include CitiBank IFSC, the Clarion Hotel, Ballymun Regeneration, and the LUAS Light Rail Viaduct.
An Integrated Business
During this period CFS Group emerged as Ireland’s leading concrete frame specialist. With five integrated businesses and a skilled in house team, the company delivered private developments at scale, efficiently and sustainably. A large investment in innovation, plant, and people meant the company was able to be agile and survive the difficult climate of the early 2010’s.
CFS built its reputation on high quality and efficiency and this allowed them to succeed in working on badly needed housing projects across Ireland. With strong relationships across Local Authority Projects, Housing Bodies, Social & Affordable, Cost Rental Developments and Private Developments. CFS have built over 600 homes during this period alone.
